We have had over four years of wonderful holidays in this apartment which is about 10 minutes gentle walk down to the main beach, bars and restaurants, and during those four years we have shared happy times with our many friends and relatives who have stayed with us, in fact they keep coming back so often that we needed a larger apartment with a third bedroom .. so that is what we did .. we bought a 3 bedroom apartment about another 10 minutes walk away from this one, which although a little further from the beach is still in a nice quite location .. and once again we are fortunate to have good neighbours.

Our apartment for sale is in a mature block of eight apartments in total with just four apartments sharing our entrance way. It is substantially built and very light and airy with a wonderful welcoming homely feel about it. The Turkish neighbours are very friendly, in particular the family living in the ground floor apartment opposite our balcony ... I remember when we first bought the apartment and we were cleaning it and we had forgotten the time and had not eaten all day ... when there was a knock on the back door, the Turkish neighbour had climbed over her balcony and brought us a meal she had cooked ... That is so typical of the Turkish people, we have never received anything but friendliness and kindness from them. We were so glad we chose an apartment in a area lived in and preferred by the Turkish people and was away from noisy complexes and resort centre.

The walls and ceilings in our apartment for sale in Altinkum, Turkey have all been recently painted throughout in a refreshing clean off white colour, the security shutters have been painted in a white gloss, and as can be seen from the pictures below the apartment is fully equipped and furnished, and is ready to move into as your own holiday home in beautiful Altinkum, Turkey or you can let it to holiday makers and friends.

There is a small corner shop which sells all the essentials about 15 yards from the apartment, plus a few local restaurants within a 5 minute walk from the apartment. The apartment is not on a holiday complex so does have a great advantage that it is not subjected to rowdy noisy holiday makers.

Most of the local hotels are very happy for anyone to use their swimming pools providing they at least buy a drink whilst they use their facilities, and there are a few of those within easy walk of the apartment, so if you don't fancy going to the beach, but want to bathe or just sun bathe you can use the hotel pools.

Electricity is supplied via the usual type of mains similar to the uk and each apartment has it's own meter and cut off switch.
Water supply is also similar to the uk and each apartment has it's own meter and shut off valve.
Gas is via bottled supply which is delivered as and when you need i from local shops.
Hot Water is provided by solar panels on the apartment block roof which providesvery hot water for the kitchen and bathroom, during the non sunny winter periods or when additional hot water is required there is the backup water heater in the bathroom which is plumbed into the water main.
Transport we love walking but if we didn't there are local buses called Dolmush these are like mini buses and run up and down the main roads all day long, there are designated stops for these but when the driver sees any one walking, just catch his eye, wave and he will stop for you wherever you are. The cost is around the equavilant of 15p and is a standard charge wherever you want to go locally, these minibuses are spaced about 5 - 10 minutes apart so you are never waiting long.
Taxis there are a number of taxi ranks around and the charge for a local run is 10 (YTL = turkish lire) around £5 at current rates of aprox 2 YTL to the pound.
Exchange rate The exchange rate does fluctuate and back in Sept 08 was 2YTL to the £.
Rates and community charges these are extremely low at under £40 per year for both.
Insurance Contents, Building and earthquake insurance costs only around £130 to £150 per year for complete cover.
NB! It is a Turkish government requirement following the devastating earthquake some years ago that now every property in Turkey has earthquake insurance cover, however our apartment for sale in Altinkum is NOT in a earthquake area.
